I have been too busy in the garden to keep blog updated.  With the beautiful weather for past month we have been very busy getting the garden into shape.  Vegetables are doing very well despite some of our cauliflower getting attacked by root fly, however we seem to have got rid of it by pulling up the plants that were destroyed.   It is great to go out and pull a head of lettuce or cabbage as you need it .   Peter has tomatoes growing in a frame at end of house so hopefully we will have them later on.

Going out this evening with Micheal to celebrate his birthday which was last Tuesday.
He is 78 and doesn't look a bit of it.   I think its in the Kavanagh genes.   I expect both Peter and Micheal will see the 100th birthday like their mother.   Someone else will have to organise the party next time round

Robert starts his leaving cert on Wednesday .  We will be offering the few prayers Rob to help you along, but I am sure  you will do fine.

The girls are all off for holidays now but next year Sarah and Lauren , it will be your turn.

Well at last the weather has got milder.   Had a lovely walk on the Beach this morning.Went  from Ballyytrent to St. Helen's.It was beautiful and calm and we were reluctant to come home.   Our back lawn got its first cut this afternoon.   Two weeks ago we could not walk on it - the ground was spongy and it is hard to believe the difference today.   The daffodils are starting to bloom  - a little later than usual, but they will last all the longer.   Have just done a batch of  baking for the freezer and I can get the lovely aroma all through the house. Peter gave me breakfast in bed this morning.  We will be rushing for Mass tomorrow, so I had an early mother's day.   Lots of lovely flowers too. I am such a lucky "girl" everyone thinking of me with lovely Cards etc.  Hope all mothers have a really happy mother's day.

Yesterday  we travelled to Edenderry to attend the Wedding of Lorcan and Lorraine.   We had a wonderful day.   The ceremony was lovely and later we went to the reception in Johnstown Bridge . The Hamlet  served a beautiful meal and really made everyone feel they were at a Royal Banquet.   As you can see from the photos The Carey girls all looked so glamorous none more so than Phyllis.  We wish Lorcan and Lorraine many years of happiness together.
